Gov.Spring Kit.
could somebody please tell me what is involved in installing a spring kit?i know it will help me on the top end,but will it make any difference on the bottom end?
a guy i waas talkin to at a diesel shop yesterday said it will improve power through yuor whole power band, and depending on which one you get it will allow you to go above redline on your tach.. some will allow you to hit 3500 and some 4000
theres some posts on here covering the install, worked great for me got em down loaded to my laptop, but im not on my lap top at home, search thru and you will find them, if ya was closer i would help ya
somebody told me i could get a few mor rpm's by putting spacers in there or something.i don't really have the extra money for the kit right now.does anybody know how to modify without buying anything?
When you buy the kit, it will include directions. don't even worry about it till you get them. they are a great investment i put the 4000gsk in my truck and like it. you just need to do as the directions tell you....if you want "Search" it in this forum and you will find all the info you need. It can be done in less than an hour for your first time and now that i have done it i could do it in 15 20 min. DONT USE WASHERS thats a half *** way of doing it. some people will tell you different but you run the risk of destroying your pump, if your trying to save money wait and buy the kit when you have the extra money its only 150 bucks form ddp. if you wreck your pump its going to be a gnote or more
I have not yet dynoed it, but you can feal the differnce through out the power band, the truck only toped out @90 when i didnt have the springs now it hits 110 and gets off the line much faster....for how easy it is i would do it just for fun. also just go ahead with the 4000 gsk. even if you dont have the money for the 60lb valve springs, your not going to have an issue as lon as you dont rev past 3200 rpm you will be fine! the 4gsk fuels much harder anyway.
