i was readin in the 2nd gen. 24 valve forum they were talkin about takin the turbo silence ring out and it makes your turbo whistle more can you do that on a 12 valve?

 

yes you can. i took mine out.. if you take off your torque tube and look at that fan inside the mouth to your turbo. around the edge of that opening in front of the fan is a little chrome piece of metal that runs along the inside of the opening.. u can use like a flathead screwdriver to get it off, just pry it towards yourself

 

its held in by a snap ring that will have to come out first. the actual silencer ring will damn near fall out once that little suckers out. a set on needle nose pliers and i good pick go a long way in the snap ring removal. let us know what ya think
