they are just viton o-rings just be shure to get the rite size, but you can buy a full kit with everything you need for cheap, i keep an extra kit in the tool box , just call cummins and get one, they can ship to your door for cheap, i do it all the time

They break!!! Absolutely, no question about it. One of mine busted and wrecked the whole engine (flooded with fuel and burned a hole in the #5 piston). The new fuel takes its toll on injectors, thats why everyone should run 2-stroke oil, or a good conditioner (not just Howes or PS).

Yeah, the #5 cylinder's injector busted... It stuck open, don't ask me what broke because I didn't even bother tearing it apart. It melted a hole in the #5 piston, scored the cylinder wall, blew aluminum into the exhaust manifold... All sorts of fun stuff. Trust me, replace your injectors if there is ANY question they are bad.

the only way to see if an injector is good is to have them pop tested

Depends on where you take them, and if you pull them yourself or have the shop pull them. D&W out here was gonna charge me $160 to pop test them... They were working on the truck anyways, but I didn't think it was worth it at the time... Sure enough, a few thousand miles later it blew up. Should have dropped the extra coin to have them tested.

When your injector stuck open on #5, did you notice your egt's raise? that sucks if it just stuck open and blew on normal driving conditions, with no warning...
