i was asked this before haha, the only thing i know is that the orig owner changed the housing, i took the turbo off of the truck to see if i could put one back on and i cant, i looked for a way to put the wg back on

 

Someone put a WH1C on mine and its not wastegated, just a thought

 

well mine says hx35w on it it should have a wg but i dont see where one would have been, we have a offroad parts store and they told me that they didnt have wg till 98 and i told him he was full of crap

 

it had a wastegate on it at some point i have already looked into it, i know the original 12v like 90-91 you could get the option of swaping out the wastegated housing for a nongated housing but it was originally built with a wastgate

 

I wasn't sure if it did or not. I'm not good on turbos yet.now that I think about it the fella I bought the truck off of said it was modified.

 

if its gated there will be an actuator looking thing on the exhaust housing and a line either to the front of the turbo or to the fuel pump

 

yea thats what i thought .u know now that i think about it the owner had a bigger turbo on it, i bet u he put a turbo off a older dodge on it that *****.
ill tell you a story on this truck he said the truck had all this crap done to it and i test drove it and that truck blew the black smoke and it was fast, i got the loan for the truck gave him 11,500 for it .it already had 187,000 miles on it . well "he siad i couldnt pick the truck up till the next night" well i picked it up it dint feel right it was sluggish well the truck was (As Is) so i drove it for yrs now well last summer he showed up at my place of work and said "hey u want some stuff fot that truck" "i said what do u mean"" he said i got all this stuff that come off that truck" "i was afraid u would blow it up he siad ill take a grand for everything , i said u should give it to me for nothing since u ripped me off, he said yea right and took off havent seen him since but the truck has been a piece of crap ive been trying for 3 yrs now to get it running right sorry about the long post

 

if it was in your name legaly he couldnt take the parts off the truck

 

even though he told him he took the parts off how could anyone ever prove in court that he did.unless he admited,or maybe a tape recorder!!!

 

i had a 97 with an auto in it and it didnt have a wastegate on it. it might have been a different housing but it was a holset housing tho. the compresser housing had the place for the elbow but it had a pipe plug in it. all the other hx35's that i have seen have wastegates.
