Beat by a Duramax
I was following a duramax tonight on my way home, and i had a to race him, but i lost 2 him on the bottom end, he got me off the line, i was told my truck had a new valve body before i bought it, and it seems like it is delayed shifting, like it should be shifting faster, i would like to truck to get off the line faster, and shift quicker? Any tips or tricks? can i adjust the valve body? I did adjust the bands and the trans does not slip, i want to smoke this guy off the line not just @ the top end. I love the way it pulls when the converter locks up but its a dog off the line. Please help guys. also whats the difference from a 47re and 47rh and how to tell what i got, the trucks a 97 2500 cummins 12valve with ex-cab and4x4

haha, thanks for the input. my old 12 valve buggies down, and when it comes down to it i know that if we hooked chains, i would most likely tow them all around town. and if i couldnt i would get my friends 05 cummins and put a real hurting on them....COMPAIRING ORANGES TO ORANGES or just keep moding my truck, who should i talk to about getting more info about the valve body assistant? if my converter locked up @ 18mph or even 8mph with a flip of a switch that would be nasty..... i also am thinking about doing the 3 grand gsk!!!!!!

You can pretty easily put a TC lockup switch in... Ground out the 54 PCM (check that to make sure) wire through a switch. When the switch is on, it grounds out the TC lockup wire and lacks the converter. Remember though, if you lock that thing at full throttle you run the risk of breaking a lot of parts in that trans. Upgrading the TC to a low stall unit will help you a lot down low.
