high idle

Default high idle

is the 12v supposed to have a high idle when it is cold?

Unless you make something for it to be at a high idle no. 89 to 98 12v are not controlled by computer so there is no way for it to have a high idle.

You can use a cable (throttle or PTO) to mechanically force it into high idle. Something like this: http://www.awdirect.com/pto-cable-10-r04d45x10/pto/ But youll have to work out the mechanical details.




Some guys have even used solenoids off of carbs, but most dont have enough holding poswer.

thats what i have been doing i have 2 x 4 under my seat i wedge in there

i carry a sledgehammer that i wedge between the pedal and the steering wheel, if u have power seats (which i dont) u can just get a board and adjust ur rpm according to the seat

you can adjust your idle by the nut on the back of the injection pump. it is a 10mm wrench. it is right were the linkage connects to the back of the pump. this will help you solve your problem. 700 to 850 is were it should be set.
