Default need advice on a 95 3500

Hello everybody, im gonna go ahead and apologize for the long post but i need some advice on a 1995 3500 flatbed. its a 4X4 5 - speed with 230,000 miles. it has 3 problems:

1) ball joints bad
2)play in the front end
3)front drive shaft missing

I can handle the play and the ball joints but the missing drive shaft worries me. Is this a common problem or could the problem be the transfer case or the ring and pinion in the front dif? the guy bought it in georgia as a bank repo. He wants 4500.00 for it. Is it worth that? and is there anyway to tell what might be the problem why the front drive shaft is missing? any input would really be appreciated. oh and i forgot to mention that he said it has a new injection pump on it

way too much money, hell I just had a new front shaft made for mine because.... ready for this someone stole it. $475 + $50 for install and ujoint straps and bolts cause they took those too ofcourse the storage place I had it at over the summer re-recorded over the video tapes for the cameras never the less as I have found out you can throw a grand into the front end of these trucks and only get marginal results

$4500 isnt too bad. Most of the higher milage trucks have front end problems. When i bought mine i had to put all new ball joints and tie rod ends and the whole nine yards. With the drive shaft missing u could find one in a junk yard or have one made. i wouldnt think anything would be wrong with the transfer case but for some reason if it wont lock the front end in then it is probly your vacume lines which would be a simple fix.
