Nothing. The diesel Mopar filters are made by Fleetguard which is a sister company to Cummins.

But there are a number of different filters that Fleetguaged makes - the best is called a Stratapore (p/n LF3894). It uses synthetic filter media that provides much better filtration and last longer between oil changes.

I didnt know Fram were poor filters. They are pretty much all I've ever used. I've put a wix in a couple times but for the most part I've always used Fram.

How come they are so crappy??? ..... Now I'm all worried.

QC and neoprene from what I have read while researching TSB 09-004-01.
Wix and Fram are both mentioned.
I think I will be switching to Fleetguard Stratapore filters.

I don't know how true some of this stuff is so make up your own mind.
Here are a few of the pages I have looked at;

Why are they so crappy? Because they are made cheaply - even though they cost as much as a Fleetguard.

Theres not much you can do about it now - if you are going to have issues, they will likely have shown up by now...but, to be safe dont run that junk.

Should be a LF3894 - which is the Stratapore p/n.

Theres lots of places - not sure where you live, but truck stops, industrial equipment places, agricultural equipment (case tractors) etc. You may have to phone around for a bit.

Or you can order them directly from Genos Garage:

A Cummins dealer definitely should have them. Fleetguagrd is a sister company to Cummins.

If you want the best one - get the LF3894 (it was designed for the 24V) but it works on the 12V just fine. It has the best filter media and filters finer than an of the other Fleetguards.

Just adding to the FRAM Filters that they are NO good,I worked for the dodgestealership for 4 months and seen 5 yes 5 yes 5 diesels under warrenty with F@cK up diesels because of FRAM FILTERS,dodge gets mad because they have to send them out to get fixed at a cummins place.
