What gears? My ol 2000 Cummins I had, had a set of 4:10's in it and goin up to a 33 didn't help much but it didn't hurt it either. It lowered the axle ratio to like a 3:73ish which was nicer on the hwy.

And on my dads 99 drw he put on a set of 245/85r16's. Nice size tire roughly 32.5" tall with good spacing between the duals....

Sure its not 3:55's? Dads truck had that gear set and with the manual you couldn't tell the difference from stock to the new size...

I believe most duallys run a 4:10/4:11 gear.

Im pretty sure its not a 3:50 - never heard of that ratio for these trucks.

my 98.5 had 3.5s If you dont want them to rub when its loaded the biggest you can go is 235/85/16.

Any larger tires is going to bring your mpg down.
