What is considered normal for shaft play?

axeial play is nuttin to worry bout cuz the difference is taken up by oil when the system is charged.................runout is a couple thou I believe

i know my stock turbo befor i replaced it had almost 1/16" shaft play from side to side so i was leary of running it anymore so i bit the bullet and bought an upgarde

ok good I have some axial (side to side), but no in and out at all. The compressor wheel wheel has no damage and neither does the compressor housing so I will just run it.

In and out is what they worry about, otherwise as long as it doesn't hit the housing it's OK.
