ive got a 95 2500 with a #0 plate and a 5 inch exhaust single stacked how owrried about egts do i need to be i do alot of towing with a heavy trailer i dont have a pyro have stock auto trans k and n filter stock injectors and moved my star wheel a bit

i wouldnt worry. ive got a 100 plate stock exhaust with no cat or muffler 40 horse injectors and i dont ever get over 925-975 egt's

You should be fine but i would HIGHLY recomend a pyrometer and tranny temp guage before you start doing any heavy towing.

well my trans has had no 2nd gear for about 70k now think the band might have fallen off but who knows how hard it is to put the strut back on?

i hit 1400 when i had just a 5inch exhaust and a #8 plate (it was in the middle at the time)

dont worry about it with the fuelling upgrades and the HX35/40 hybrid and 16cm non gated housing i have i rarly go over 1200 towing 14k lbs the advantage of a 5 speed is you can control your temps better than a auto but with a #8 plate i would worry about it

You NEED a PYROMETER - period. Running without one is a recipe for a disaster.

Davo79, have you ever seen the type of damage that can happen without a pyrometer??
