Default Quoted 5g$ to rebuild head and t case.?.

Hey I noticed a very small antifreeze leak coming from the passenger side rear corner between head and block. Figured it was as good a time as any for ARP head studs also my t case leaks from everything so the shop said 5 grand to check out the head and block and over haul the t case. Is that a crazy price or is that the norm? Quote also included installing some 3k gov springs and a fuel plate.

$300 max for head machining
$500 for labor if you cant do it yourself
$150 for gaskets
$400 for 425 studs

grand total of $1350 to fix your leaky head gasket with 425 studs including labor. Its very safe to say you are about to get robbed.

Extremely safe to say. GSK is a cheap part and a cheap job. Fuel plate is a cheaper part and cheaper job. T-case leaking doesn't necessarily mean it needs to be overhauled, and if you pay more than $2k for a head build it better include a new head. I'd keep shopping.

Yeah I've been calling shops on the other sides of Texas to see what prices are. So far the 5g is a rip off

Unless it includes a brand new Cummins casting, in which case it's just pricy. But yeah.
