your right, if you look there are three wires on the shutdown solenoid connector, one is a ground, one is power for the pull-in coil, and the last one is power for the hold-in coil.

i had the same prob. i found the rubber boot wrapped around the spring and shaft that goes into solenoid. after cleaning this up i tried to operate and it still would not work. i took the large honking relay off the firewall and replaced it with the trailer relay from my fuse box by the battery. this fixed the problem. that relay is around 60 bucks to replace since it handles some high amps. the little relays handle about 30 amps and are cheap. i guess operating the solenoid bound up burned up the relay. hope this helps.

Default Intermitient stalling

I guys,

I'm kinda new to diesels since I've only had my Dodge 2500 for a couple of years. The Dodge is stalling on occasion when coming to a stop or slow turn. It will restart if I let it coast to a stop, wait a bit and then tromp on the accelerator while cranking the engine. My local diesel mechanic thinks it's the fuel shutoff valve since the truck "runs too good when it's running" We have not been able to get it to stall when he has it. So far, I haven't had the presence of mind to leave the key in the on position and check the position of the valve when it is stalled. Anyway, has anyone had a similar experience and can suggest a cause? The truck runs great otherwise.

cheers, Paul

It could be related. I see nothing wrong with it. At least it shows that he is intelligent enough to use the search function.
