When I bought this 12v I saw the front case has been welded, ask kdp fell out before and broke case. So when I redid the motor I made sure the kdp wouldn't fallout ever again. So last few years I have had a small leak. Finally looked into it and I see that 1in away from weld is a Crack all the way across the bottom lip of case. Did the pin refall out or is it a stress Crack from old weld,idk. Pickup runs like a top daily driver. Like I said been 2 years with this going on.

 

The cover is aluminum, not particularly robust. It's unlikely that the pin has come out again. If it were me, I'd pop it off and check the pin, and replace the cover with a billet one. You can still get OEM covers, they aren't unobtanium or anything, but my motto has always been "when something breaks, upgrade".
