I'm wondering what gasket kit to use on my 98 12v cummins. There so many. I've heard the cummins head gasket is better than Victor or felpro.i also read that if u use a thicker head gasket is better. Can anybody help me out.

I have had great luck with the felpro gaskets in my trucks. For the headgasket unless your trying to gain some extra clearance than just stick with the stock thickness

I've heard good about fel and victor, I personally go with cummins as not to chance it. And thicker doesn't hell that much. I do it to add a little extra clearance for a cam or if you've had the head decked. What I would do while the head is off is have it prepared for studs and o ringed, and at least 60lb valve springs then the sky is the limit for power making. If you don't have those 3 things your fairly limited
