Turbo question.

Hey guys. Sorry for not replying. Been busy with working 2 jobs. So I've been paying attention to the rpms and boost and egt numbers. It levels off at about 18-1900 and still speeds up but not as fast. I can blow the doors off some powerstroke we have here around us and I've gotten 1 duramax. From 35-60 I can tear it up. But once I get to 60-65 it starts to slow down. I have smoke still throughout the whole range. Not so dark you can't see through it but still obvious. Boost gauge is only a 35 psi gauge but by looking at the needle and judging, its at about 40 psi from 3rd gear up, so spooling it is not an issue at all. It spools faster than any boosted car I've ever had, and egts are anywhere from 1100-1500. I have plenty of power, torque, and speed down low, but I don't understand why it flattens off around 60-65.

You need a governor spring kit. Either a 3000rpm or 4000rpm one. That is why. There is no other reason. Also if you have goals for the truck you should state them. It's a stock 180 horse truck, it's not gonna be fast without modification. You NEED a gsk kit to make more rpm which will increase usable rpm and fueling rate. Psi also is not a real representation of power. You can only make so much power with an hx35 and it will start to get hot.
