Default 1997 dodge trans skipping 2nd and OD

Hello, I have a 1997 CTD 2500 with the 47re in it. Truck was sitting for a year to two before I bought it as a project. After I put all new brake parts in it I took it out for a test drive and the transmission will skip 2nd and go straight into 3rd with no hesitation and will not go into overdrive. The shift pattern is then 1st-3rd and thats it when the truck is in Drive. I can start from a stand still and go manually on the column from 1st to 2nd and 3rd and each gear is nice and crisp and it will go into 2nd without any fuss but wont go into OD. Im thinking it is something electrical because of the scenario and how it goes into 2nd manually on the column. I did take off the TPS sensor and TV cable when I had to free up the throttle linkage since it was stuck from sitting, could this be the problem? Any one have a problem similar? Thanks guys and gals!

Could be your TV cable not adjusted properly. Does the converter lock?

All I did was unclip the throttle cable and TV cable and then put them back when I was done freeing the stuck throttle. Could that upset the adjustment that much? How to you adjust the TV cable??

I don't think it would. If it was shifting into OD and 2nd before you took them off though, it would narrow things down a bit. I honestly don't remember how to adjust the TV cable, it's been so long since I had to. I did originally figure it out by searching here and reading up though, I know the info is here somewhere.

I never did get the chance to drive it before I took apart the linkage and TV cable. Ill have to check the forum and see if it is adjusted properly. Thanks!
