Default infiniti stereo aftermarket head unit question

My head unit has never worked properly in my infinity stereo 96 dually so thinking of yanking it and installing a modern receiver & mp3 player.

Pioneer DEH-X6700BT CD Receiver with Mixtrax and Bluetooth, USB

seems like a good choice and Crutchfield say it will work with infinity.

I'm assuming I need a
plastic dash kit plastic dash kit
to mount it

and a
harness harness

Anyone got this setup and anything weird or wonderful about infinity wiring if you've been there and done this?

TIA

I have that same pioneer deck in my 97 dodge and I like it. You will need a face plate for it to work in your truck.
As for the infinity I have no idea about that.
The only thing I don't like about the pioneer is it won't work with my satalite radio.

I had the Infinity head unit, didn't have any trouble making my Kenwood digital media deck work with the basic harness adapter and dash kit.
