idler pulled
So I feel pretty dumb asking this but I can't figure it out. I need a new idler pulley but can not figure out how to get the old one off. it's a 96 12V. The pulley is squeezing like crazy. It looks like a nipple with no bolts or nuts that I can see to get it off.
You'll need a 1/2" ratchet or breaker bar (preferably the latter) to take the tension off the belt so you can get it off the pulley. There should be a little square hole for it right by the pulley and you just snap it in and pull it over. At that point you should be able to see the bolt that holds it on the block.
How the HELL do I get the damn thing off? I know what is squeezing and its really pissing me off its been dragging for about 3 months now off and on and ate through 2 serpentine belts almost 3 now. I am starting internship with the forest service in 2 weeks and need this done yesterday.
