Yes, it sounds like some randy teenager cranked the smoke screw all the way up like a douche. It's on the back of the pump, not the easiest thing to get at. On the other hand, with a five speed essentially putting you in full lockup right off the bat, you may just be lugging it too much off the line with too much fuel and not enough boost to clean it up.

As for the 600HP, there are a number of ways you could go about it. What is and isn't a good idea on the quest depends largely on why you want 600HP. What exactly do you plan to do with it? Despite the obvious similarities, a weekend warrior pulling truck and an actual working tractor truck are not the same setup at all. Concurrently, you won't setup to do either of those things the same as you would for drag racing. What are your intentions?

I'm looking for a truck more like a weekend pulling truck but also something that will be able to handle pulling a 10k trailer occasionally and be daily driven , I'll look at the screw to see if it can be tighten ... Thanks for your input

I meant to put a weekend warrior , I might try sled pulling and all that jazz down the line but on this one I really just want something that makes good power and still has the day to day drivability.
