Ok so when i first bought this truck the auto trans started acting up.. when i came to a redlight i would hit brakes and stop when the light turned green i would hit the pedal and nothing happened.. engines revs up but truck didnt move.. also if i idled forward u could feel the trans kick in and out of gear and it would stop moving and start again.. also when i would slow down and do a rolling stop it seems like it didnt down shift low enough and instead of dropping down to first or second it would stay in like 3rd until i fully stopped but when i would hit the pedal again it would feel like its in 3rd then omce moving it would kick down a gear to like 2nd.. well the trans shop said it was trashed and put a remand performace trans in.. well a week after picking it up its right back to doin this again.. i tried replacing pressure governor amd sensor.. changed filter and trans output sjaft speed sensor... still same issue..thanks!

 

Sounds like your pump is bad .OR ..Its an RE trans. ,so its gonna be electronicly shifted ... its gonna be something electrical .. tcm ? Bad ground not allowing the solenoids to ground .. check the plugs @ tcm .. pass side fire wall ..

 

Well let me ask you will a rear speed sensor on the axle do this? Because my speedo jumps up and down every once in awhile so i know its goind bad

 

No the VSS( Vehicle speed sensor is on trans ) .. the sensor in the rear diff is only for the ABS for the rear diff ...

if your O/D, Or lock up was having issues I would say TPS or VSS .. It sounds like the trans isnt down shifting ..

I replaced my VB in my trans with a Suncoast unit ... MUCH BETTER !!!!

 

Well like i said my speedo jumps sometimes and they replaced the speed sensor on my trans and it still did it.. and my overdrive locks up fine at 45-50mph.. like i said i jus know the trans is a fully reman trans they only re used the pan.. and it still doesnt move sometimes at a redlight.. so obviously it musy be something else other than trans itself..and they wont do anything for it because everytime they test drive it they cant get it to do it.. so im thinkin next time it doesnt move im jus gonna floor it that way when it does engage it will tear the trans up then they will have to fix it

 

The speedo issue could just be the Speedo its self then ..

Yeah the dashes in these trucks can be a real PITA !!

But as long as it works .. leave it alone unless you can grab another dash from a Diesel Dodge ..
