Pump problem?
It was running fine I took the fuel cap off and five mins later it **** off I crack the line to the glow plugs and only alittle came out. I primed it and still no fuel. I crack the vent bolt on top of the fuel filter and no fuel and tee pumping it so I think it ran all the fuel out of the filter and lines but what could cause it to run the fuel out but not drawl ant more fuel out the tank. My lines are ok no crenks or nothing. Any suggestions

your an idiot 4X4 grrr.
no the shut down solenoid operates a lever controled by 12v from the key to move the lever on the pump to fuel or not. it is a simple electromagnet with a spring return. your truck has a grid heater no glow plugs. you cracked the lines at the injectors or on top of the injection pump.

My bad . U did say GP's .. LOL
I would say your Pick up tueb is cracked and thats why when you remove the cap you also remove the vaccum on the tank ..
either that or the Fuel shut down solenoid is not enguaging and thats stopping your fuel from flowing ... NEed to ensure that its enguaging fully to make sure its allowing flow
