I was wondering if a 727 tranny out of a 89 first gen will fit on a second gen 12v?

yes but your going in the wron direction. and need the non lockup conveter. i defenetly would not do this unless it is your only option

yeah u can run a 528 and be ok for like drag racing or 1/8 mile .. but unless your just gonna race it .. the 47rh or 48re/rh
