Turbo suggestions

I'm looking to change up my turbo on my truck as I have FAR too much fuel for it and cruise is pretty warm. I have everything in my sig. An he351 turbo is what I have now, on a 3rd gen manifold. Looking for something that would support near 600 horse, spool fairly quick, and be able to run as a smaller turbo for compounds in the future. Been looking potentially at a silver bullet 64, a fleece cheetah he351 and the htt he351 2.5. But not sure if the he351 bases will be able to control my egts. Thanks

no sig ... :humm:

if your doing compounds keep the charger you have now and throw a s475 under it. Very hard set up to beat for your power goals

I got one just doesn't show on the phone version. I'll write it out quick tho for reference. 95 175horse 12 valve, port and polished head, 3 angle valve job, bd 2 piece 3rd gen manifold, arp625's, hybrid 181 dv's (supposed to be similar to 191 and 024's) 5x012 injectors, airdog 150, Tork tech 060 ofv, stock he351, 4 inch all the way back, #10 plate, afc tuning and mods, sbc 3250 dual disk, custom 3 inch intake horn, industrial injection 150 valve springs. And as for compounds that's a plan for far down the road when I have the money. Need something for dd now, so you would suggest something like the htt 2.5 he351 or the cheetah? I won't ever want to push over 700 even with compounds as I don't have o rings and this will be a dd. I basically just need something too control my egts

Well, 94 is right on the money a s475 can be had for a reasonable price 1.10 A/R 26cm housing ... there on E-bay for around 900 ish ... some more and some less but, unless you can shell out bucks for a premo unit ... might look into that ..

then It's all about piping and such .. :c:

True, I'd hate to get rid of my new 3rd gen manifold tho. Would like to get some miles out of it. Plus would like something a bit less restrictive then the HE351. It's only a 60/65/9 I'm not sure what fleece or htt fully do to theirs but I just need something that runs a bit cooler for now. Something more bolt on and go. I will be defiantly going s475 or bigger as a compound in the future. Any suggestions would be helpful.

don't waste your money on there he351 workstock chargers you will be better off spending your money on a good s300 charger like a super b special or a 63/68. 700 on a drivable single is not going to be very fun to drive, both the chargers I listed will get you to 550-600 rwhp pretty easy.

Did you drill out the he351's wastegate? they can be hogged out to almost 1" which really helps keep it cool and for the record specs on the 351 are 60/60 9cm

i wasn't planning 700 on a single, I'm thinking 700 down the road with twins. as for the he351 i have its all stock with the waste gate clamped I'm pretty sure, it hits about 42-45 psi since my mods. i am interested in the bd special but thought it may be a bit big, but i suppose not since i was curious about the silver bullet 64 which is a 64/74/14. would the special light fast enough to run in a compound setup?

LostSoul71 07-31-2014 12:18 AM

The special is supposed to be horrible for towing, so I am not sure I would want to run it in my compound set up. Being a manual, I was told to avoid it with even the light towing I do for my off road truck.

I would go 62/68/12 and then you will be able to get to "about" 450-500 .. then add a s475 .. ( silver 62 ) ... or go the s300 62/65/14 ..

1989-2002 Dodge HTB2 Street Stock 62/14 Turbo

and its a great piece .. i went for a cruize in a 12v with one .. DAMN .. that thing was a scootin right along ... :rocking::choochoo::s:
