Default low boost??

I have a 1998 dodge 3500 with a 12v, 5 speed. It has 3k gov. springs, stock fuel plate slid forward, boost elbow, 4" exhaust and an open element intake, I noticed yesterday while towing my 8000lb boat that I'm only getting a max of about 15 psi of boost, on the gauge and is really lacking power running up hills at speed. And my mileage has gone to ****. I have just received a #10 fuel plate but do not want to install it till I figure out this issue, the last few time I pulled with it I remember seeing at least 25 psi and a bit of smoke, now there is no smoke at all. most of what I have searched says I should have at least 25 psi, I'm going to check the couplers, for leaks today, how do I tell if the waste gate is functioning properly?

And I have neither, EGT never went above 1100 and no smoke whatsoever, could it be a fuel supply issue?

The wastegate is not your issue the problem is fuel related. But if you want to check it best way is to hook shop air up and watch it move.

I guess I should read a little more. I didn't notice you had no smoke.

If he is not getting a boost reference to the AFC, he would not see fuel and then would not have enough fuel to further build boost correct? What are the chances that you have a cracked AFC reference line?
