Default Where to find a re-buildable Vacuum Pump or just buy a Rockauto cheapie?

Hello, this is my first post on this board.

My 94 started spewing oil from underneath on the way home and I shut it down just as the oil gauge started pulsating. I got underneath and a drop motor oil landed on my forehead as I looked up at a small section of nice shiny metal (nothing on this truck is typically shiny). I pulled the vacuum and steering pump off to find part of the vacuum pump chunked out.

Obviously can't rebuild this one with the Cummins seal kit (4089742), so I started looking for used ones in the classifieds and ebay. Its hard to believe used ones could be so rare.

The standby is a new DORMAN Part # 904810 for $175 plus shipping. Probably a china part, its only saving grace is a lifetime warranty.

I would like to find a factory pump that I can put the $10 Cummins seal kit in, but its hard to justify paying a lot for a used pump that I need to tear apart. Should I just buy the new DORMAN and be done with it? Anyone have an old factory pump they want to sell for a reasonable $?

Buy the Dorman from rockauto i have one in my truck it does just fine. makes me feel even better compared to auto value at 340 dollars. Dorman is a decent brand i dont think you will have any problems with it.

Guys, thanks for the advise. I feel a little better about the Dorman. I'm taking care of a few additional items and plan to have the truck down for a little bit, so if anyone reading has a used factory pump they want to sell, shout at me. If not, I'll just buy the Dorman once I'm ready to button it back up. Thanks again.
