Default 1992 D350 Won't Start

Just as the title says, my first gen won't start. I was driving along and it quit, so I coast to the side of the road. I crank it around four to five times and it cranks, go about a half mile and it stops. Did this around three times. I had it pulled home to work on it. Well I changed the fuel filter and replaced it with a brand new fleetguard. I tried to bleed the air out at the nut there, no dice, the lift pump has no resistance. I check to see if any fuel is getting to the injector pump, there was, but very little. So I figured I had run it out of fuel. I took the line off the lift pump, put an air nozzle on it and with around 10-15 psi blew back to the tank, no bubbles. Okay, I ran it out of diesel.
So I got ten gallons today and poured in. Start to pump the lift pump, it starts coming out of the bleeder bolt. Whew, I'm in the clear, well not exactly. I bled it out to the bolt, tried to start it, nothing. Okay, so I bled the injectors, still nothing. I have no idea what's left to do with this thing, there is fuel getting all the way to the injectors. I'm going out of my mind and worried sick about it.
So anybody have any ideas?

Leave the fitting loose going in to the pump and bleed all the air off there
