Twin turbo setup
I have a II silver 64. It takes a litte bit to spool up, but when it does it will set you back in your seat. It goes from 10-60 in boost in about 1 second. I have asked a couple of people if I could run it as a lower turbo in a compound set up. They tell me it's too small. I was thinking I could run an hx 35 to get quicker spool up. Can this be accomplished?

I will be running a hx35 and the Garret HT3B , your turbo is a slight bit small for massive HP or ya know, like sled pulls but for Daily Driving , should spool like no ones bussiness.... I would limit your boost though, also might think about going up to 3.5" CAC piping to reduce your intake pressure's , PSI is not real good if your not moving a big Volume of air, might check out .... Crazycarls....

this is cheeper than a banks kit by a mile, and all together it will spread your air out and you will move more Volume of air efficently which should help with power MPG and smoke over all, and its nearly a must for twins, combined with the 3.5" piping you will be moving much more air in an efficent manner

why would you run an s3 as a primary? what a waste of time and money. your truck will not flow worth a crap on either side of the chargers. a 56mm 2nd and a 64mm primary by a 58mm by 74mm charger is so tiny whats the point? mark this off your list of things to do
a 74mm wheel on a 12 valve with very limited supporting mods, such as yours, is going to be a pig on the street. i do like that it has a cam. specs? to be honest, in my opinion, you bought the wrong turbo. i still argue the wonderful driving of a 65mm turbine with the older trucks. they are capable of over 500hp on fuel and drive freakin awesome. i currently run a 62/71 in my 95 and noticed a dramatic amount a extra lag compared to the 65 it replaced. a 74 will be that much worse. 74's flow very well but make power much higher in the rpm range than what you see on the street (most of the time) you have a charger that is capable of well over 600 hp and i bet your truck dynos in the low 4's. 74mm wheels are much more at home on mild built common rails. if your not happy with the silver 64 i would urge you to buy a smaller charger. you will loose the big push to the back of your seat when it lights but with a smaller charger they start pulling @ like 1200 rpms NOT 1800-2000 grand. your 0-60 times will be seconds faster, smoke will be way down, egt's will go up a little, fuel mileage will increase, the fun of driving your truck will go up because the truck will actually move when you push the go pedal not 3 seconds and 5 gallons of diesel fuel later.

So what brand and size single turbo would you suggest? The truck doesn't smoke hardly at all. I thought I had pretty good mods not mild. But it's a Dailey driver and a farm truck too.

A 35 whith ur turbo will support around 450 you might suffer a bit in topend , might think about something slightly bigger, like the ht3b, been used by manny and with plenty of power.... one guy I know is running a hx40/ht3b making 582 @ tires..... just for comparrison ..... his is 24v..... hence he can spool the 40, but a 35 should be fine with a ur stock turbo, might think about billet wheels for it due to speed of turbo..... just a thought
