Default In the market for a 12 valve project pulling truck

Well, I have been on Craigslist searching, and searching for a 12 valve project truck. I found a few, know I own a 99 24v I know it inside and out. But what should I be looking for when I am looking into getting 12v. I know all about the KDP, and other issues they have. One thing I will never do is purchase an automatic. I have seen it's really easy to find a 5 Speed 12v. But can ya'll give me a little insight on what I should be looking for. My 99 is my farm truck, use it for hauling hay, work around the farm an other jobs I stumble across. But with my next truck, I am wanting to go all out an build a pulling truck. Should I go reg cab route, or would it really matter. I just want some info from the guys, who do pulls. Much input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ya'll! Here are some pics of the trucks I've been eye bawlin'

95 2500 4x4 Guy said make an offer.

96 2500 $11k
