I bought this truck with a built tranny with a triple disk from banks. Dosent even have 10,000 on it. I really don't have the mods to hurt it imo. I started driving it around 9 this morning with a. Small flat bed car hauler. picked up a small truck to to take to the scrap and after about 45 mins of straight driving, I come to a stop light and the truck dies. It will stay cranked in p and n but not in d or r. It starts off in 2nd and I can tell the converter stays locked the whole time because it hauls *** and poors smoke at low speeds when stepped on. Any info would be great.

lock up silinoid is stuck .... or shorted wire some where ...

 

Thanks man, that's what I'm thinking. Its $100 part and every tranny place and everybody else is trying to tell me its the tc. I think they just want my casper money .

 

I'm not familiar with the automatics but had a car once with similar issues and it was a blown fuse for the tcm

 

I looked at all the fuses but wouldn't hurt to look again with a tester. Thanks
