Question stock+injectors for mpg

What would you guys suggest as the best replacement for stock injectors on 96 12 valve. The truck has a new stock auto transmission ,truck has 230000 kilometers on it ,the torque converter is stock the valve body is stock. I am interested in a clean burning mpg focused injecter that won't cause my new tranny to fail in 20000 kilometers. I don't need tons of power it has all that I need. If it helps a small hp gain is ok but not at the expense of reliability. Any suggestions ? If a few bolt on mods to the auto trans will help without opening up the tranny again at great expense,I am open to that but not dropping the tranny again. Again mileage and reliability are the focus, thanks ahead of time

aftermarket injectors increase hp and unfortunatly a stock 2nd gen transmission will barley handle the factory power.

DDP 5x0.12 90 hp sticks would do the trick. You have the hp gains, MPG's will go up, and the stock trans should take it, as long as you don't keep it in the floor boards all day. Since I have been running those, I have had great mileage, good power. Make sure your run some additive to keep the IP and injectors lubed up to prolong the life as IP are expensive, and you don't want to be changing injectors or tips every few years.

As for the tranny, there's no real bolt-on that you can do to really help it be stronger. You would need a good torque converter and a shift kit/valve body. Anything under 450 to 475 hp the tranny should be able to hold as long as you don't beat the crap out of it all day long.

The only thing that you can add that would help is:

BD Power - Product: PressureLoc

It helps prevent TC shudder and clutch slipping by keeping the trans line pressure higher when your in lock up.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

i wouold NOT recommend 5x12's on a stock turbo!!! i currently run them with a 62/65 turbo and can BURY my pyro on command. you can get away with that size injector but if you never plan on hot rodding the truck or going over 400 hp than i would stay away from an oversized injector such as the 5x12. they arnt huge but they can dump way more fuel than your hx35 can ever hope to burn.

215HP
230HP SAC
or at most 5x.011 SAC +70HP.

We keep a good supply of injectors in stock. if you tune your AFC you can choose a bigger injector. If you tune the pump up you can do more than what your factory turbo can handle and keep temps reasonable.

your stock injectors are 180HP

I had Marine 310's then I upgraded to 5x12's and Im still running stock turbo. I still have to do some tuning to lose the little bit of smoke left, but it has been runnng fine, and have had no issues.

It is my daily driver and I haul my fifth wheel every other weekend, and it is still running strong, and get great mpg's.

A friend of mine is running 7x9s' everything else is bone stock, and has a space cap that is loaded to the max, and he is hard on his truck, stock turbo, and runs like a charm.

I like the 5x12s and hx40 combo in my 1st Gen alot. It's not exactly "EGT-safe," anymore like the stockers with a hybrid were, but pretty close to it. Feels like about the same spool-up with a 16cm ex housing as the stock injectors did with a 12cm - almost instant.
