Default 1997 3500 with a Rambrake, need help

Hey Guys. I just bought my first Cummins in a 1997 3500 dully with a 12 valve. Its got 94000 on it and is in great shape. The owner has an older Cummins Rambrake that he removed after an engine fire. It looks OK but he took it off because he was concerned the diafram would have suffered from the heat. When it was removed and also because of the engine fire, there are no other components other than the elbow and canister. Where can I find info or a PDF file with install instruction for this model. It was originally installed in the same as the purchase year, 1997, so its older. But this is such a valuable part of equipment, I hate to see it go to waste. What do you think?? I also have 410 gears and I am definitely going with taller tires. The stock little highway tires only measure aprox. 30 1/2 high. What cha thinking?

If it works the same as a BD, just get a vacuum source and test the movement of the plunger in the canister. If I remember correctly, it's like a double-acting hydraulic ram, but operates dry with vacuum, rather than with fluid pressure... If it moves, it's probably good. If it's broken, you could probably rebuild it or replace it pretty economically. I suspect that the most expensive components are probably the butterfly and its housing, and the solenoid assembly that controls the flow of the vacuum. It also could be like a single-acting situation, with a spring to return to the default "open" position. Either way, should be pretty straight-forward.
