Question need help with truck value

i have the oppurtunity to get a 1996 12 valve sclb five speed 4x4. it has 265k miles and the body is in what looks to be real good shape. its white, has aftermarket wheels and tires, anzo headlights. i have a 2002 silverado scsb five speed z71 package worth around $7500. Would even trade be a good deal?? thanks for any input ahead of time!!

If it's in as good all around condition as yours, yeah.

may I ask wich motor it has in it? 5.3L?

theres a pretty clear reason somebody would trade a sweet looking gasser for your beatiful ride, cause your truck is worth more period. plus the growing trend will be deisels in pretty much everything in the next few years , chryslers introduction of the 3.0l deisel engine that will go into everything that it puts the pentestar into , gm will be coming out with a deisel car engine for the malibu/cruze i think "not 100% sure on that" so in a nutshell deisel fuel should fall a bit in the next few years

not to mention you can squeeze prob twice the mpg from your truck than the gasser

wich at best gets 12 highway maybe

it has the 4.8L v8. Also has a five speedmanual transmission with a six inch suspension lift sitting on 33" tires. Sorry i forgot to describe my truck for yall

And no the gas truck is mine he is offering to trade me plus i get around 16mpg out my gas truck. im asking if the diesel is worth what mine is. But thanks man i appreciate the input!

sorry for the confusion the red truck is mine..

I'd swap the gasser for the Diesel, but I wouldn't give 7500 for either one.

Yeeeah... I think prices are sort of... region specific. Good point to clarify.

If no "death wobble" issues have been addressed, the odds are very good that you will be able to talk him down a bit. If he's done, say, a power steering pump reinforcement, don't even try.
