Ok the lift pump was bad I just got one from cummins and replaced it, And it took about 30 seconds to prime. Have you guys ever heard of a lift pump that was sort of bad because the truck ran before I replaced the injectors? Now its still blowing white smoke when I rev it up, Do you think the Injection pump is bad also? If so it means by the end of this I will have replaced the injectors, lift pump, shut off solenoid, injection pump, and also I had to replace some gaskets in the fuel filter housing. I still have to replace the shut off solenoid.

I went and drove it and it cleared the smoke up I hope I'm done with this ****. Next is a valve adjustment and front mains seal and ill check kdp. Oh and the god damn solenoid

Smoke was back this morning and it was hard to start and it also sputters when cold. I'm starting to think the pump is out of time.

But it did pass emissions today

white smoke that comes and goes? injectors which could also be a contributing factor to the fuel drain back and the long cranking sessions before it fires up.

I just replaced the injectors, the fuel doesn't drain back anymore. It doesn't take long to start (maybe 30 seconds) but I have to use ether and I have to give it a little throttle to keep it running. Also the injectors were pop tested and they were running low pressure but they were atomizing fine so they reset the pressures and pop tested again. Also the truck does not have a pre heater.

And the work was done by central power motive and they used genuine Bosch parts
