47RH rebuild
I recently bought my first Cummins, a 95 SCLB 4x4 with 217k miles. The person I bought it from said the transmission had been rebuilt with a shift kit sometime in the past. That description was too vague for me. I plan on building the truck way beyond what the stock transmission can hold. I've been looking at rebuild kits from Suncoast, Goerend, and a couple others.
Do you guys suggest buying a full transmission rebuild kit, or buying the components individually to rebuild it? What kit or brand of parts would build me the best transmission?
Thanks for your help.

It's up to you. If you don't have the moneyright now,I'd start buying theparts one at a time. Then when you have all the parts you can rebuild it.
As for the different companies, their all good, so its really up you.

Would buying all of the parts individually or buying the kit be less expensive?
I know I'm going to have to buy a triple disk torque converter and billet input shaft to handle the horsepower I'm seeking. Am I gonna need billet intermediate, output shafts or a billet flex plate? My goal is 550-600hp.
