Default 4x4 problems

Hey guys I've been having an issue with the 4x4 on my dump during the last storm we had i was out plowing and it enguaged fine light came on and all, but then it would slipping in and out light was still on, then all of a sudden it clicked out and would not go back and the light shut off..but had the feeling of it slipping in and out still..... I've check all the vac hoses and they all seem fine.... what else is there to check? Is there a way to rig the coller on the axel so it will stay in 4x4? to get me threw a storm or out of a jam?? Thanks for any and all help in advance!!

Thats correct. Ive purchased them from chase at east coast gear and used the other lock in out hubs.
My reason for the vacuum boost question is that the vacuum boost trucks had a vacuums switch that would illuminate dash lights if the vacuum was low. You might consider smoking the vacuum lines with it in 4x4 . Ive got the pinpoint test on the system somewhere if you needs it.

Thats a great find!! Its only a couple bux more than the stock actuator also.. If I cant get my system to start working again I'm deff goin to order that!! so do you think that im loosing vac pressure? Is that why it would kick in and out? Im guessing one line would blow the coller over and lock it and the other would blow it back out to disenguage.. Thanks for the info fellas!

Yes that is possible or the actuator is faulty
