i just had the 47re completely rebuilt in my 97'. today was the first time i drove it. the speedo and tach arent working and it wont shift into overdrive. Any help would be much appreciated.

Maybe crank sensor check and see if your a/c works if the a/c clutch dont engage then I would say thats the problem.

well the truck has another symptom-alternator is not charging which was nice to find dead batteries at 5 this morning 15 degrees out. come to the conclusion its either the crank position sensor or the pcm.

 

Im almost 100 percent sure its the crank position sensor because my friend had the same problem and he changed the pcm first and it was the crank sensor so he was out alot of money for nothing so I would start at the cheapest part first but thats just my opinion.

 

do you know were to get one? i called my local motor supply and they dont even list the part

yes. its not technically a crank sensor its an "engine speed sensor". the parts stores kept trying to sell me the vehicle speed sensor. tried for about 15 minutes to drill it threw their head that wasnt what i was looking for...
