Default 8.3 Pump On A 5.9

I heard people swapping a 5.9 ppump to 8.3 ppump. Besides the governor set up what are the differences in the pumps? How much gain do can you get with a 8.3 pump?

im guessin...maybe, this might be possible depends on the gear in the case if the hole was the right size for the pump, also what kind of pump it is, and what year of 8.3 he is talkin not sure when they started makin them, the 8.3's we have at work are all CR's but i know there not CP3 pumps on them

they did make a 8.3 litre with a p7100 pump, had to run the overhead on one at NADC, and it is actually cheaper to send a 5.9 ppump to a pump shop and have them set it up to 8.3 specs than it is to try to swap the pumps bc the injector lines are slightly different in the two. but if youre going to go to the trouble of putting a 8.3 pump on a 5.9, why not just put the whole 8.3 in the truck, now that would be BAD!

the 8.3 p7100 that im familiar with would actually be a step backwards from the one used on a 96-97 dodge with the famous "913" designation. there may be some external parts worth investigation, possibly delivery valves, but i wouldnt get my hopes up. the p7100 913 seems to be the holy grail when it comes to cheap stock replacements that make power. of course if there is a stock application on somethin that uses say 13 or 14 mm plungers that we could swap into our 913's, that would be slick feel free to fill me in if im wrong on any of this but this has been my experience so far
