Question Blowby

I'm pretty knowledgeable with the 12v Engine, But since I am in the market for a new truck, I was curious to how much, if any blow by is alright. I'm aware the engine needs to vent, but should there be any smoke at all exiting the tappet cover breather, or oil fill when the engine is warm? My last truck had very little smoke exiting it, and the last truck I checked out, but didn't buy, had a good stream of smoke exiting the breather.

Does anyone have any input, or any way of describe what is a good find, and what a good engine will show?

Thanks!

Like you said they will all have some blowby. But it should be a minuscule amount. If there is a steady stream i would most likely shy away from it.
