160 is supposedly a 160hp and 215 = 215hp, the 215 pump retards timing at higher rpm's therefore the 160 - 180 pumps are more desireable, so I've been told.

The diffences as far as my memory serves..

160 pumps have the smaller injectors of coarse
131 diverter valves (which are actually larger flowing than the 181's )
Smaller lobe Pump cam.

215 pumps have 215 injectors of coarse
181 Diverter valves
Larger lobed pump Cam.

Those are the main differences that I can remember.

1994-1998.5
180 pumps come with the automatics,
215 pumps come with the standards.
I don't notice a difference i wouldn't worry. my father has the 180 and i have the 215. he has 30,000 more miles then me and his truck goes better then mine.

There is so much fail in this post I'm not sure where to start...but coming from someone who rolls around with their mirrors up everywhere, I'm not surprised.
94-96 ran the 160 pumps. There was also the CA approved 160 pump which also tied into the emissions crap on the intake horn. For 97-98, the autos ran a 180 pump, while the manuals ran a 215. Also, the 160 pumps used 131 Delivery Valves....not Diverter.....but im going to stop there as my head is starting to hurt.

sorry... haha. I was in another forum talking about blow off valves when I was posting that. Just kept saying diverter valves in my head without noticing.

You got me...i spaced that out completely...my 96 is a auto to manual conversion, and still running the 160 pump, which always screws me up, plus it was late last night!

This....

I'll throw a wrench in the works and say my 95' manual tranny truck has a 175hp pump... That's what the lil plaque tells me anyways.
