What could it be?
1997 Dodge 3500 5.9. This is our farm truck, and today my hubby started it, backed it up about 3 feet and it died, like it lost all power. All the fuses in the cab fuse box are good, and the big fuses under the hood. What else could it be? The headlight work as well as the horn, but when you flip the key, it does nothing. No power to the gauges, the starter won't click. Nothing. This truck was last drove about 3 days ago around the yard fine, and used to spray 20 acres 30 miles away 2 weeks ago.
It sounds like a fuse or relay. If starter went bad it wouldn't shut the truck off, unless it stayed engaged. I'd takes screw driver an try jumping the starter, and if it still doesn't do anything, it will be a bad starter
I don't think it's the starter because when you turn the key, none of the dummy dash lights come on, the wait to start doesn't cycle, nothing when you turn the key. Not the batteries because the headlights work. Is there more than just the 2 fuse boxes?
