I don't what year it is, but I don't think there is any way he has that kind of power with that little done to the truck. Because my dads 09 has 420hp stock, and thats the most hp of any stock dmax, so even if he has that year he still isn't even close to those numbers. And I would definitly recommend that he buy some guages. Someone tell me if I'm wrong about what I've said, But I think I'm pretty close, hope this helps you out.

his is a 6.6 motor and i think it is a 2007 or 2008. i think he said 360 or 380 hp stock. 110hp for the chip, 20hp for the intake, and 80 for the exhaust. so that is where he gets his numbers ( 600hp) which i think are way off. i told him to go do a dyno run before being too sure about saying he has a 600hp truck!

I love this hobby, Diesel Trucks, but it's guys like that, that really take the fun out of it.

If he is driving a 07 to 08 DMax he is making 365 hp with his LMM Duramax engine.
When he starts pushing better then 400 hp he risks the chance of putting his allison into limp mod with his burn outs and dead stop launches. Each time it goes into limp mod it's another nail in the coffin of his transmission.

For every item he put on his truck, then added together to come up with his grade total hp... Tell him to subtract 28% on each of those items to account for HP loss in Tire size, loss in differential, hp loss in transfer case, hp loss in transmission, etc.

If you don't have documentation to back it up ie: Dyno print. Don't brag.

2007.5 to 2010 LMM Duramax
Specifications:
Engine type: 6,599 cc (6.599 L; 402.7 cu in) V8 turbo
Bore x Stroke: 4.06 in (103.1 mm) x 3.90 in (99.1 mm)
Block / Head: Cast gray iron / Cast aluminum
Aspiration: Turbocharged & Intercooled
Valvetrain: OHV 4-V
Compression: 16.8:1
Injection: Bosch High Pressure Common Rail with CP3.3 Injection Pump
Horse Power / Torque: 365 HP @3200rpm / 660 LB-FT @1600 rpm

a stock dmax turbo will only support 500hp, and i think its so funny when people do the whole well i have 300hp stock with a 100hp chip 80hp this 20hp that so i must be at 500hp! it doesn't work that way at all! plus the stock allison can support up to 400hp possibly 450 with minimal beating on it, any more than that its gonna let go! to get to the 600hp mark he would need to build the trans and twin it, i have seen one with similar mods, built trans and a s475 twin with stock turbo make a little over 600hp! its doable. i would guess him to be closer to the 380-400hp mark with that, depending on what the programer is, efilive will give you more than say like an edge juice although they say they give equal amounts.

Who let this guy in here??? Hey Glenn!!

If your buddy only has that done my guess it right around 370-400HP at the rear wheels... a far cry from 600hp...

LBZ only dyno about 300rwhp stock, and most tuners give their hp gains at the crank to make you think you're getting more than what they offer

lets do some simple math here, 360 x 0.8 = 288, 360+110= 470 x 0.8 = 376rwhp... add 10hp for exhaust and hes at 385.... and thats if the tuner actually makes 110hp... they usually sandbag their numbers
