the plastic mirrors molded like yours from local camper place work real nice about 40 bucks each instead of 300 and dont shake.

I just got suckered into a pair ... The ad on ebay said OEM TOW MIRRORS...I failed to see the word "style" in there...er... I got them cheap with all the bells and whistles, but I'll see how they hold up. If they fail within 5 years I'll be pretty pissed, but not surprised. Not once in the ebay post did it say "made by Kool Vue"...It was pretty misleading. I had an order in queue with GM Parts direct, but then these ended up being $300 cheaper for the set ($600 vs $900).

When I installed my OEM towing mirrors, I under tightened the screws on the driver side. It did the exact same thing you are talking about. Vibration so bad make you sick to look in it while doing over 30 MPH. Stopped at the first fuel station and tightened it up while filling, no more vibration.

Yeah I did the same thing too haha, they came loose after the first couple days of driving. Tightened them down and no problems since then. I really do love those mirrors. It's a shame it took GM 7 years to figure out how to make proper truck mirrors. Ford had that similar design from 1999. The old power extending mirrors are the ugliest things I have ever seen. Once I got them off the truck they looked like black gummy worms...not very truck-like or inspiring at all.

If you go to a GM dealer and buy mirrors for your truck you will get kool-vue mirrors. All of our GM dealers get there replacement mirrors from them. I have installed several sets of Kool-vue mirrors and never had a problem out of any of them.

There is nothing wrong with the kool-vue mirrors. You can't tell them from OEM. If your mirrors are vibrating, take it off and remove the plastic cover over the hinge, remove the four screws that hold the hinge cover plate in place, remove the spring and insert approximately 1/8" stack of washers under the spring seat and reassemble. This increases the spring pressure against the arm detent and stops the vibration. BTW, if you purchase the correct ones for your model year they are a direct plug in. Been there, done that!
