Default LBZ Upgrades

What other upgrades would be recomended for my LBZ for better fuel economy while towing and not towing? I already have replaced the air filter system ,exhaust system and have a Bullydog programmer.

I was thinking about injectors, what is suggested?

I don't need a whole lot of extra HP.

Water/Methanol?

Any help is appreciated.

There are alot of things you can do to your LBZ. If you are dead set on keeping the Bullydog, then you can look into propane injection for some extra mileage and a slight boost in power. If you want more mileage no matter what it takes, try switching to a PPE tuner, or EFI Live.

The Water/Meth systems are great, but if you are mainly looking to prolong the life of your LBZ, and gain mileage as a first priority, then just inject water, or a light mixture of methanol and water... it will help keep your egt's down.

Also, you can run synthetic fluid all thru the truck, check and maintain your air pressure in your tires. You can even run Nitrogen in them. I have mine filled with the Nitrogen mixture, and it has in creased the life of the tires for sure!

Thanks. I'm not married to the Bullydog. As for synthetic fluids what should I use in the Allison?

TIMW60, what are you getting mileage at this time? I am curious because I'm looking to buy an 07 early version 6.6 but I've heard they get between 12 to 16 mpg. Is this true.

The new Edge CS and CTS programmers are great options. I suggest them over the PPE.

Allison sells a product called TranSynd synthetic tranmission fluid which is TES295 certified. There are also a number of aftermarket vendors selling TES295 approved fluids such as Mobile, John Deere and others that I don't remember. Note: Amsoil ATF is NOT TES295 certified.
