Default New LBZ Motor Coming together

I am about a week away from picking up a new long block:

.020" over LBZ Block
Billet Main Caps & Girdle
Crower Rods
Forged Mahle 15:1 Pistons
Internally Balanced Stock Crank
ATI Balancer
TTS Extreme Cam
Manton Pushrods
DPR Billet Rocker Bridges
SoCal Heads

Should make for a fun time at the track! I will dyno my current mods to the stock LBZ motor this Saturday to get a baseline to compare against. Once the new motor is broken in and tuned in I will also be looking to step up the turbo a little more. I have been looking at the S400 series (80mm). How big depends on how hard the new motor will spool my current GT42.

Thats awesome John.. Very cool. Im sure the new motor will spool that GT42 faster than the current motor does. with that 80mm Turbo, is it going to be streetable? Did you get everything lined out with the trans?

Wish I could make it to see you dyno, but I will still be trapped at the rig.

That new motor is gonna make for one wild ride man.

Keep us filled in!

Once I know how well the new motor spools the current GT42, I should be able to spec out something just as streetable (or more) in an 80mm. I was surprised to find out how big of a compressor wheel some turbo companies can stuff into a "mid-Frame" turbo.

The trans is still holding and I'm confident that it will hold but it shifts way too hard for a daily driver.

Pretty soon I'll have to start to find some help for the stock G80 posi. Thankfully my truck is light and the launches have been easy on it thus far, but it's fuse has got to be getting very short.

How have engines with forged piston been holding together? Any body tear them down after DD use?

Most miles I have seen posted thus far is 25k. No issues reported that I know of. I'll keep everyone posted how mine behaves with street use.
