If you want a smoke switch, tap into the IC line, and put an electric valve on it.. that way when you flip the switch, it opens the valve, and you lose boost.. and create LOTS of smoke..

shut the valve, boost goes back up smoke goes away..

It would be like popping a boot.. Im sure its not GOOD for the motor, especially prolonged.. smoke is bad.. blowing smoke is bad.. yea I said it..

BLOWING SMOKE IS BAD..

It gives all them tree huggin hippies another reason to gripe about our hobby.. plus is wasteful.. Its way cooler to outrun someone with no smoke.. cause that means you have setup your truck CORRECTLY..

You could pump some used oil in the DP that will make some smoke. When a guy blew his turbo a bunch of oil went down his exhaust. When it got fixed that thing smoked more then a cummins.

I saw a kit they put in on 'Trucks' on the powerblock a few years ago where it just put spark plugs near the exhaust tips and when you flicked the switch and stomped on it flames would shoot out the tailpipe due to unburnt exhaust gases, but cant say I ever saw a smoke set up.

Tanks in World War II made smoke by dumping fuel into the exhaust; it works great.

If it's in the downpipe, the engine has no way to be affected. The cat might be.

Diesel exhaust is pretty lean, so the fuel would burn a little if it was above the 450-550 autoignition temperature, making a whitish/greyish smoke.

My bet is that it would make more of a whitish smoke than a real black smoke, but it definitely makes smoke.

It's on the agenda of things that I want to do. Mainly to confuse the heck out of the people at the track, but it would also be a good way to get away at night from invading Commies or the coyotes as well.

I remeber watching trucks awhile ago when stacy was still hosting it. They had a newer ford diesel where he just installed a kit that shoots anti freeze into the exhaust which creates a white cloud outta the exhaust pipe. Worked really well could completly make the truck disapear in no time. you could probaly find that kit and put diesel instead of antifreeze. Dont know how well it would work with diesel.
