Default LLY POWER FAILURE

On my way home from work today my LLY bogged way down and ran like CRAP! I drove it until I had a spot to stop and was expecting to find a vac line or something unhooked.... No dice. I shut it off for about three min. When restarted it ran fine for a min then the same thing again. Check Engine light was on as well. I have only had the truck for a couple months and hope it isnt injectors. Can someone shed some light on this? Please? I cant let my fiance get the satisfaction of my duramax pooped out and me driving her Powerstroke.....7.3 atleast.... Hope its a cheap fix as I am in the process of buying a house..THANK YOU

Umm why dont you start with seeing what that CEL is. Its trying to tell you something is wrong. Then get back with us.

I was planning on trying that. Problem is I recently moved to Northern KY from So IL and in a town this small there are no mechanics within 15 miles. . I didnt want to drive it that far and end up causing more damage. And with both my trailers 5 hours away I am screwed if I cant drive it. It is what it is I guess and if I have to I have to.

Change the fuel filter first then. Could be as simple as that.

Well I decided to start with the fuel filter and when I pulled the inner fender well out I noticed that the water seperator had no wire!! I went ahead and changed the filter and got the new seperator or sensor and so far no problem yet.... Dont know if it was the filter or just cause of the missing sensor. either way I just hope that fixed it and thats not just gonna screw me later. I am however going to buy an awl to keep in case it does happen again. Thanks for the help!

the broken wire will prevent the "water in filter" message from popping up. It could be bad if water did build up to the point of getting though the filter. It could leave you with some damaged injectors or pump. Good you got it fixed

the wire being broke wont cause the loss of power i would bet that the CEL that you got was for low rail pressure from the filter being clogged.
