Default 4r100 upgrades

Asked before but haven't got a real straight answer.. I have 2002 F350 Srw crew cab longbed.. Tranny has started to slip and over heats.. Also when I take off sometimes it kinda feels like its skipping.. First auto diesel I've had but wanting to rebuild/upgrade it.. Was wondering if anyone could give me a parts list of what all I should build up.. I know TC and valve body prob.. But brands? Want something that is working for everyone else.. I know I'm gonna do bigger cooler to, just haven't decided on which one.. Also a tranny temp gauge ( done been hollered at for thinking stock gauge was good enough ).. Just need advice, all is welcome.. Looking to order stuff now.. Wallet open ..

What I do with truck isn't much.. Daily driver, slash tow rig for hauling others stuff.. Kinda hilly around here.. Would love to pull a hill and not have to watch gauge go thru roof and slow down or stop to cool off..

THANKS

if i had an auto i would not screw with it myself or have someone try to build it for me. i would buy it from either BTS, john woods maybe twisted or NADP. not worth it to me to chance buying a tranny more then once.

The suncoast rebuild kit looks pretty complete and has most everything you'd need to rebuild it to withstand some good power. I'd toss a Transgo Tugger kit on it, and a Triple Disc converter, 6.0 tranny cooler and you should handle plenty of power.

There is a guy on ebay I've spoken with who sells a "Stage 2" tranny for around $2500 with a 3 year/100k warranty. When I asked him for specifics he came right out and told me all he did, which was exactly the things most do to upgrade these trannies.

Other option is a Ford HD4R100, some vendors can get these for just over $2,000 and you get a warranty through ford for I think 5/100k.

There are plenty of other options besides BTS/John Woods that will withstand some power.

Which suncoast kit u referring to? Ya I've heard good things on tugger kit.. So prob gonna do it.. I found a billet triple disc TC already.. Been looking at monster in box rebuild kits.. Heard any news on them? They offer a additional superduty package to the rebuild kit to beef it up more too.. Thanks

I looked at Monster and their tranny's/kit's didn't really impress me much at all. Sounded very stock rebuild'ish to me.

Here is the suncoast kit I was talking about:
Sun Coast Diesel Transmissions - Ford 4R100 Xtreme Rebuild Kit 1999-2003 | Catalog Products | Sun Coast Diesel Transmissions

"Engineered by Sun Coast and manufactured by Alto, this kit offers the shop owner or DIY the components to rebuild and upgrade the 4R100 Transmission. This kit furnishes all the gaskets, seals, sealing rings, Alto Red Eagle frictions, Kolene steels, pressure plates and snap rings for severe service or high power applications. Increases clutch count in forward, direct, intermediate, coast*, and overdrive clutch packs.

*Only if you purchase the upgrades coast clutch drum."

price is around $535
