You can pull pipe and get repaired or get new. There are a few places to order online. Check the suppliers on this page. ;-)

Im curious how you could see back in there to tell it was cracked. Did you experience any other symptoms that led you to find out it was cracked?

Awesome, thanks! I have an odd noise coming from my truck and haven't been able to diagnose anything as of yet, and I posted something on here a while back and it seems everyone else must be stumped too. I was hoping maybe this would be my problem or at least part of it, but I don't see any residue on the firewall.

EDIT:
I actually just popped the hood since I hadn't looked in a while and found residue, however not exactly on the firewall and not what I expected to see. I will start a new thread for this though.

My 05 is in the shop now for studs and egr delete. Talking to the mechanic before deciding to do studs while it's there I mentioned the smell of exhaust in the cab and hearing a whistle sounds under load. He crawled under the truck and found that my flex pipe on the drivers side was cracked and you could see from the top all of the residue on the back of the firewall, black truck made it harder to see. He said that the pipe could be taken off from the top rather than pulling the cab if I didn't opt for studs. The new pipe from ford was $365.

i took mine to the local muffler shop to have the muffler and cat cut off.while under the truck the guy told me and showed me where the sound like a air compressor was coming from and the cab was filling up with exhaust.it would hesitate on take off .but now its repaired runs alot better and no exhaust in the cab.
