Default '03 6.0 - Drain & Flush w/Gravity Flow or Fed Hot Water... Yes or No...?

Hello everyone...

After having read through a number of Threads from this Site, and others as well, I have come to the Conclusion that the Coolant Drain, Flush & Refill is in order for my '03 6.0...

I am not familiar w/anyone in here, since I am Extremely New to this Site, and Diesels, for that matter. Just the Wealth of Information that can be attained, while Roaming & Reading through these Pages is Way Beyond what I could have ever Imagined. And to those that Share their Knowledge, Experiences & Expertise, Hands Down to you, for giving me the Opportunity to Learn and Evaluate my Diesel Decisions Carefully.

As I have said before, I plan to perform the Coolant Drain, Flush & Refill on my '03 6.0L. I have never performed this Procedure before, but after Reading through various Post, I have familiarized myself with the Process.

But my Question lies to whether Gravity Fed Hot Water is acceptable to use as a Flushing Method. I have read that some people have Flushed the Cooling System, utilizing Tap Water, but due to the Higher Pressure coming from the Faucet, it is either done w/the outmost care or not even done at all. I am under the impression, that water, being Gravity Fed, would pose less of a threat due to less pressure.

Also, along with my question, Would it be acceptable to use Hot Water to Flush the Cooling System, since in the Procedures that I have read through, in many cases, the Vehicle is run for 60-90 Minutes to bring the water to a Hot State, so that it may Dislodge the Silicate that is adhering to the Oil Cooler & other internal components.

Is Gravity Fed Hot Water into the Cooling System Passage Way, a safe Procedure to do when Flushing the Cooling System & Would utilizing Hot Water to Flush the Cooling System Help eliminate time and speed up the Process of Cleaning out the Cooling System Passage Ways...?

Any Suggestions or Advice would be Greatly Appreciated...

Thanx,
Cj
